What belongs on a Colorado propane leak-check record?
What belongs on a Colorado propane leak-check record?
Colorado’s LP-gas rule lists the date, start and end times, tester and employer details, test type, and pressure readings when a constant-pressure test is used.
Give the office a record it can find
Under section 3-2(c), record the test date; start time; end time; tester’s name; employer’s name, address and telephone number; and the type of leak test. For a constant-pressure test, include the starting and ending pressure. Section 3-2(d) puts the duty to keep the record on the employer for at least one year.
As an office practice, connect that record to the correct customer, service address and job. Those identifiers help someone retrieve it later; they do not replace the listed fields. Review a completed example with the person responsible for your safety program before changing the form.
FAQ
Does a checked box cover the required fields?
A checked box alone does not contain the names, times and other details listed in the rule.
Does this answer explain how to perform the test?
No. A qualified person must follow the applicable procedure. This is a recordkeeping checklist for Colorado, not a test method.
