Can a Propane Safety Finding Become a Service Job?

Can a Propane Safety Finding Become a Service Job?

Yes. Tank Spotter describes a workflow that turns a field issue into a dispatched job. Management reviews the finding, then schedules the work. Test that handoff with a sample issue your service manager would recognize.

Show the office what was found

The published workflow sends management an alert with photos, GPS coordinates, date and time, and a problem description. Use a sample with enough detail that the reviewer understands it without calling the driver.

Decide who judges urgency and who approves the response. If a real hazard is found, follow your own safety procedures. This page is a software buying guide, not safety instructions.

Follow the decision into assigned work

Tank Spotter lets you assign jobs and manage schedules from the office or a phone. Ask the presenter to show who owns the sample job, the assigned visit, and where the tech reads the original finding.

Try one exception. What happens when the reviewer needs more facts before scheduling? Add that to your notes. Not every alert is an approved repair.

Check the record after the visit

The service list includes work order history. Ask to open a finished job and see what was done. Check that view against what your office needs when the same customer calls again.

Keep "job created" apart from "work completed." Your service lead decides what record closes the follow-up.

Questions and answers

Will the office see a finding if the phone has no signal?

Not until the phone reconnects. Tank Spotter says data syncs when connectivity returns, and office alerts and live status follow. Put that delay in your staff instructions. Keep a plain way to report urgent problems.

What should we use for the walkthrough?

Pick an ordinary maintenance finding with customer details removed. Have an office employee and a tech follow it through review, scheduling and the final record.
